Teaching and living abroad was a lot of fun adventures and new experiences one or two days a week. It was also exhausting days of teaching, cultural differences, long commutes, frustrating bureaucracy, plus huge waves of overwhelm and loneliness. This post is about the challenges of moving abroad.
Lately, life in Hong Kong means exploring local neighborhoods and falling in love with the not so pretty spots.
Life in Hong Kong last month; learning to finally go with the flow at work, making a friend, an unplanned island day trip and enjoying my solitude.
I loved living in Cusco, Peru for 3 months. Discovering all of the local spots and going on big ‘tourist’ adventures – the best of both worlds. Well-dressed dogs, crowded buses, amazing street food and unusual business practices – I enjoyed it all.
